Like its predecessor, The Traveler was composed, performed, recorded, and produced by ātman. Released in 2003, the album completes the project inspired by Joseph Campbell’s book The Hero with a Thousand Faces. Also, like its first part, the album merges traditional music instruments and voices from around the world with contemporary electronic textures and rhythms. This choice connects past and present through each of the seventeen stages the hero’s journey as described in Campbell’s work.
